This unit is designed for persons typically at worker level with assigned responsibilities on WSH as representative or leaders among the workers. It would be suitable for person with little WSH background knowledge and skills. The unit is also relevant for small businesses operations and self-employed people.
The purpose of this competency unit is to enable the learner to identify hazards at their workplace, understand the basic concept of risk assessment and apply simple tools to assess and control risks at their own department and operation.

Participants are recommended to have attained the following before enrolling for the course:
- Reading/Writing: Level 4
- Numeracy: Level 4
OR completed Secondary 2 education and are able to speak,read and write basic English

Upon successful completion and assessment of each training module, participants will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA).
SPUR funding is only applicable to all who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. SPUR Funding is valid till 30 November 2010 only.
Absentee Payroll Funding is also available for this program.
