Course Overview
At the end of the course, trainees will be able to:
- Understand the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) legislation
- Understand the codes of practices
- Recognize the roles and responsibilities of ship-repair managers and other key shipyard personnel
- Handle lifting equipment safely
Course Duration
32 hours (4.5 days), include 2 hours of assessment

- Codes of Practice (CP14, CP 84, CP88: Part 3)
- Role of Ship Repair Managers and other key shipyard personnel on safety

- Fire & Explosion, Hot-Work Permit System
- Safety Management System
- Safety Audit
- MPA Regulations and Gas Free Certification
Pre-requisites
Participant must hold the position of Manager, Ship-repair Manager, Project Engineer, Superintendent or equivalent.
(Note: Participant has to produce a company letter to verify his/her designation)

Funding Info
SPUR funding is only applicable to company sponsored PMET trainees who are Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident. SPUR Funding is valid till 30 November 2010 only.

To be eligible for SPUR / Absentee Payroll funding , companies are required to enroll their trainees through the SkillsConnect and issue a cheque payable to “NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd”.
