Course Overview

We are proud to offer practical, relevant and hands-on training for security practitioners under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualifications (WSQ) for the Security Industry. This framework is launched by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA) and contains the competency elements which will set the standards for all unarmed security officers in Singapore.

The private security industry is an industry of paramount importance in ensuring the safety of our nation's infrastructure and economic well-being. The Security WSQ was developed with the aim to enhance the overall standard and professionalism of the private security industry.

Target Audience

The Security WSQ courses are suitable for anyone who wants to start a career in the Security Industry and Security Officers and/or Security Guards to upgrade themselves for career advancement in the Security Industry. The Security WSQ is a national skills qualifications system that establishes the occupational standards and offers skills progression pathways for the private security industry.

Assessment


Assessment will be conducted at the end of each module by POLWEL.
POLWEL Co-Operative is the business arm of Police Welfare Fund. It is an Approved Assessment Organisation under the National Skill Recognition System.

Its core functions are:
  • To register and schedule candidates for assessment
  • To ensure the quality and consistency of assessment conducted
  • To handle appeals from candidates
  • To ensure that the system of managing the assessment regime meets the service standards defined by the authorities.

A total of 28 skills standards will be assessed and carried out by POLWEL Approved Assessment Organisation.

Certification

  • Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Workforce Development Agency (WDA)
  • Certificate of Attendance from NTUC LearningHub®
