Target Audience

This NSRS cleaning training course is suitable for anyone who wants to find a job in the cleaning industry as a professional cleaner. It aims to help workers in the cleaning industry obtain the fundamental skills and knowledge of cleaning different types of fixtures and furnishings.

Course Overview

This module provides trainee with the knowledge and skills in recognizing and differentiating different types of furniture and furnishing materials. Upon completion of this module, trainee will be equipped with the necessary and relevant knowledge and skill sets in conducting colour fastness test and use appropriate tools and equipment to polish different types of furniture and furnishings.

Course Duration

24 hours (3 days) exclude assessment hours

Assessment

Practical and oral/written test (45 minutes) is conducted at the end of the training course

Course Outline

• Recognize different types of furniture and furnishing materials
• Identify different types of cleaning tools, equipment, chemical and supplies
• Health and safety procedures
• Colour fastness test
• Remove spillages and stains
• Removal of loose dirt and debris
• Polish Furniture and Furnishings
• Reinstate work area

Pre-requisites

There is no minimum educational requirement.

Candidates should be physically fit and have a 20/30 vision. They should also have a general sense of punctuality; be customer-service orientated and comply with safety procedures.
