WSQ Use Basic Hand Tools and Equipment
Target Audience
This WSQ module is suitable for technicians, backroom staff (administrative etc) in the manufacturing / electronics industry.
Course Overview
This course is developed to enable an individual to acquire the skills and knowledge in using basic hand tools and equipment at work. It is a systematic approach that workers can use to make incremental and breakthrough improvements in processes that produce products and services for customers.
Course Duration
16 hours (2 days) inclusive of assessment hours
Assessment
Practical and oral/wirtten tests (2 hours) are conducted at the end of the training course.

- Prepare hand tools, equipment and materials for the task
- Use hand tools and equipment to perform the task
- Maintain hand tools and equipment
Pre-requisites
- Completed PSLE and are able to speak, read and write in basic English
or
- Participants with the following competency ratings from the Employability Skills System (ESS) are eligible:
- Listening/Speaking Min. Level 3
- Reading/Writing Min. Level 3
- Numeracy Min. Level 3
