Course Overview

Designed specifically for participants at operational level, the course aims to provide the basic knowledge of threats to security of supply chains and how risk assessment tool applies in supply chain operation.

The course is designed to provide a practical working knowledge of the supply chain operational risk and practices in relation to supply chain security initiatives such as STP and ISO 28000. The training will enable participants to identify operational risks in logistics supply chain network and determine the best practical approach to handle operational risk in their workplace.

Course Duration

1 day: 8.30am to 6.00 pm (8 hours)

Course Outline

The course discusses the relevant details of threats to supply chain security and the use of risk assessment to identify risk and security measures so as to mitigate and manage risks on the supply chain network.

At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
- Understand the concept of Supply Chain Security involving the various nodes and transport
- modes in the Supply Chain and appreciate the various security threats to a typical supply chain.
- Realize their roles and responsibilities of risk management within the changing supply chain environment.
- Understand the supply chain risk assessment methodology to evaluate security risks, that could disrupt the continuity of the business operations, and enable security measures that can be instituted to ensure Critical Business functions.
- Adopt the relevant industry's best practices on operational and technological measures to enhance security for the end-to-end movement of goods along the Supply Chain.

Funding Info

The course is an Approved-in-Principle (AIP) course under the SDF EasyNet with a support level of $7.00 per training hour. (Please note that the AIP status is subjected to renewal by the Skills Development Fund.) Sponsoring companies who fulfill the following criteria, are required to pay only the unsupported portion of the course fee to association :

- Participants must be Singaporeans or Permanent Residents or 3-year Work Permit Holders.
- Companies must be registered in Singapore and bear the full training cost.
- Only company cheques are allowed for payment of course fees.

As the association endeavour to qualify the course for renewal of AIP status each year, all sponsoring companies are required to sign a letter of undertaking in which they will undertake to bear the portion supported by the Skills Development Fund to the association should their sponsored staff fail to achieve 75% attendance and/or are absent from the examination.
