Basic Conversational English for Migrant Workers – Level 2
Target Audience
This course develops the learner's Basic English skills for everyday life. It is targeted at learners with some knowleadge of the English Language.
Course Overview
At the end of the course, learners will be able to
- handle a range of work-related skills and work-related advertisements
- construct questions with yes-no response
- Use modal verbs to perform required jobs
- read more complex texts
- talk about goods and services
- talk about workplace behaviour and ethics
- ask questions using appropriate sentence structures
- use passive voice to provide information to others

Course Outline
- Communicate work-related information to others orally
- Describe things and ask questions about them
- Use more complicated sentences in complex texts
- Identify various forms of conversations in context
- Identify false start, turn-taking, interrupting and asking questions for clarifications
- Be consumer smart and understand work-related advertisements
- Negotiate, suggest and give opinions
- Participate in more complex conversations
- Handle work-related issues
