The ACTA programme is suitable for people who are moving into the training arena with little or zero knowledge in the training fields. It is also suitable for company's in-house full or part-time trainers, freelance trainers, training consultants, training administrators, course or training programme, curriculum developers, assessment developers and assessors.
The Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) is a programme that provides the workforce in the training industry with the essential skills and knowledge to design and deliver competency-based training programmes and assessment.
The ACTA focus on equipping individuals with the competencies to perform specific job tasks. The individual's competency is assessed using performance standards (based on WSQ) that are recognised by the Industry. The ACTA programme equips individual with essential skills and knowledge to take on the roles of a curriculum developer, assessment developer, trainer or assessor.
For companies, the ACTA programme enhances the skills of your in-house training staff to develop competency-based programmes.
This competency unit requires an individual to interpret the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) Framework and a set of National Competency Standard as well as applying them in the learning and development context.
This competency unit looks at how adult learning theories and principles, different learning styles/preferences and ethical issues affecting training.
The competency unit focusing on designing, developing and evaluating training programme as well as defining the parameters of a facilitated WSQ training programme.
The competency unit looks into reviewing learner's profile and adjusting the training programme and instructional technique accordingly, monitoring their progress. Prepare resources and learning environment for smooth training delivery. Facilitate learning through effective presentation and instructional skills and strategies. Assess post course evaluation result.
CU 5 – Develop A Competency-Based Assessment
The competency unit requires an individual to develop a competency-based assessment and involve in developing a competency-based assessment plan to gauge a worker's job/task competency level against a set of prescribed standard.
CU6 – Conduct Competency-Based Assessment
This competency unit requires an individual in preparing and conducting a competency-based assessment - prepare for conduct of assessment, prepare candidate for assessment and carry out conduct of assessment. Upon attainment of all SOAs, a full qualification in Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (Facilitated Learning) will be issued. All participant are required to attend a final assessment comprising of a two hours written test for CU1; one hour of written test for CU5 and one hour of role play and oral questions (30 minutes respectively) for CU6.
The answer scripts will be marked by the participant's facilitator or other independent assessor assigned by NTUC LearningHub Pte Ltd.
After the completion and assessment of each training module, participants will received a formal recognition through the award of a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the Workforce Development Agency (WDA). The SOA is a nationally-recognized qualification by WDA indicating the participant's ability of competence in a particular area to perform a task appropriate to her/his occupational level and work demands.
