Target Audience

Junior executives to Assistant Managers, Production supervisors, Team Leaders and Production operators identified for future advancement

Course Overview

This unit equip leaders and managers with the skills and knowledge to encourage and motivate team members. It covers competence building to identify and address skill development requirements, and motivate employees towards self-development and independent performance.

24hr (3 days)

Assessment

Formative assessment which may comprise of role plays, group discussions, presentation, case studies, business plans, games and oral/written questioning.

Course Outline

Identify skill development needs

• Review team and organisational plans to identify new and emerging skills requirements
• Work with team members to identify current and future skill requirements
• Translate team members' skills requirements into learning and development plans

Address skill development needs

• Identify learning and development opportunities that support the development of team members'skills
• Encourage and support team members to develop and share their skills and experience to enhance team effectiveness
• Provide on-the-job instructions, coaching and mentoring to increase the capabilities and performance of team members

Motivate employee independence and development

• Communicate expectations of team performances positively
• Encourage team members to learn from mistakes
• Provide opportunities for team members to take on higher duties and learn in the work place
